Full Day: Isle of Bute
After breakfast the days excursion heads south along the shoreline of Loch Fyne, over the Kyles of Bute to catch the short crossing from Colintraive to the Isle of Bute. Time free in the Victorian seaside town of Rothesay, the islands capital. Afterwards, the coastal drive round the island to Mount Stuart - a 19th-century neo-gothic mansion with extravagant interiors and over 300 acres landscaped gardens with a wide selection of native and exotic flora. The woodland walks lead to a private beach with views across the Firth of Clyde.
Full Day: Loch Lomond & Helensburgh
Described by many as the “Queen of Scottish Lochs.” Loch Lomond measures 23 miles long, 5 miles wide and 200 metres deep, making it the single largest expanse of fresh water in the UK. We board your cruiser at the attractive village of Luss, for a 1 hour cruise with live commentary out on to the loch – observe wildlife, a mysterious floating island, stately homes, ruins, 30 islands and more. Afterwards time free at Lomond Shores. Before returning to the hotel we stop off in the seaside town of Helensburgh on the Firth of Clyde. It is a popular seaside haven. Take in the sea air with a stroll along the flat promenade with its pretty gardens and parks.
Full Day: Inveraray & Oban Circular
A magical day awaits hugging the shorelines of Loch Long and Loch Fyne we stop in the historical market town of Inveraray, with its famous Inveraray Castle, the ancestral home of the Duke of Argyll. Afterwards, we continue towards Oban passing Kilchurn Castle on Loch Awe. Time free in this popular coastal resort, known as the “Gateway to the Isles”. The town is dominated by the Roman styled amphitheatre - McCaigs Folly. The town offers a lot for the visitor from museums to a whisky distillery, sea cruises and lots of eateries. Oban is known as the seafood capital of Scotland. So if you like your seafood, here is the place to have lunch. Mid afternoon return through the Pass of Brander to Arrochar via Tyndrum, Crianlarich and the northern shoreline of Loch Lomond.
