Day 2: Free Time in Blackpool
There is much to lose yourself in when it comes to staying in Blackpool. The promenade, with its 3 piers has lots of attractions, and there are plenty pubs and eateries to relax and enjoy. Blackpool Tower is well known and during the week you can join in one of the tea dances which are staged in the famous Tower Ballroom. The tram is a great way to get around Blackpool and you can take the Tram all the way along the seafront to Fleetwood. Back in time for dinner and entertainment
Day 3: Forest of Bowland & Dales
A particularly scenic day out awaits. First of all we cross through the Forest of Bowland - an area of outstanding beauty, with a stop in the market town of Clitheroe, before proceeding on to the "Gateway to the Dales" - Skipton, where on a Wednesday there is an Open Market. Time free to take a walk along the canal side, visit Skipton Castle or browse round the open stall market. Later, heading north on the fringes of the Dales we pass through the villages of Gargrave, Hellifield and Long Preston before descending into Settle, with its pretty square. Further on, with sights of the Dales' tallest mountains, Ingleborough and Pen-y-ghent coming into view, we briefly stop in Ingleton, before returning to Blackpool via Lancaster, to get ready for dinner and another nights entertainment.
Day 4: Southern Lakes & Windermere
Just over an hour away lies the Lake District. Today we explore the southern end of England's first National Park, with a stop in the coastal resort of Grange over Sands. There is a lovely easy walk on a path along the coast & around the town and there are plenty bespoke cafes to relax in as well. We continue the day through wall to wall lakeside scenery where near Newby Bridge you board your cruiser for an hours cruise along Lake Windermere to Windermere. Soak in the stunning landscapes, dotted with islands and framed by rolling hills. Alight in Bowness on Windermere with free time before rejoining your coach passing through Kendal and returning to your hotel for your final nights dinner and entertainment.
