Day 1- Loch Lomond and Arrochar
Overnight in the Loch Lomond/Arrochar area with an introduction to some of Scotland’s most breath-taking scenery.
Day 2 Glencoe and Uist
Embark on a captivating journey through the mesmerizing landscapes of Glencoe. Time free in Fort William. Your adventure unfolds with a northward trajectory along what is probably the most magical drives in Scotland - "The Road to The Isles". See the grandeur of towering mountains and tranquil glens sets the stage for a truly immersive experience. Photo stop at Glenfinnan, where Bonnie Prince Charlie raised his standard in 1744. Maybe catch a glimpse of the Harry Potter steam train as it crosses Glenfinnan Viaduct. On arrival at Mallaig, catch the ferry to Uist with dinner or lunch served on board depending on day of departure. Arrive at Lochboisdale before travelling North to the Dark Island Hotel for two nights.
Day 3 Guided Tour of Eriskay
Today a guide has been arranged for a tour of Isle of Eriskay, before making the short ferry crossing to the Island of Barra. Barra is the most southerly of the inhabited islands and long famed for its beauty, boasting beaches, hills, machair and moor all in one small island.
Day 4 Harris and Lewis
Taking the sea crossing to Harris, a rugged and mountainous island landscape unfolds with moorlands, deep lochs and the most glorious of white sandy beaches. Admire the beaches stretching for miles of Berneray, Nisabost and Horgabost before continuing along the spine of the island to Lewis with its history dating back 5000 years. 2 nights Stornoway, the island’s capital.
Day 5 Guided Tour on Lewis
Be immersed in the folklore and history of the Isles as your local island guide takes you to see the impressive 5,000-year-old standing stones of Callanish (Scotland’s Stonehenge, but older). Ancient thatched “Blackhouses”, typical of crofting settlements, with entry included, and the imposing Carloway Broch, a fortified tower dating back over 2,000 years.
Day 6 Depart The Hebrides
Board the ferry for the 2 ½ hour sailing across the Minch to Ullapool. Followed by a scenic drive through the sweep of the Highlands, with time free in the Highland Capital, Inverness (where ferry timings permit). Proceeding south through “bonny” Speyside and your final night’s stay in an appropriate, minimum 3* hotel, to suit your onward journey the next day.
