Glistening like precious gems in the pristine waters, Scotland's 750 islands contribute to the charm of its coastline. Nestled in a lochside hotel, this vacation is designed to fully embrace the islands' beauty, offering a cultural immersion, insights into traditions, and a chance to marvel at breathtaking landscapes. Two distinctive and enchanting islands are chosen for exploration—Mull, boasting 300 miles of coastline, and Skye, rich in tales of historical feuds and romance.
Fort William's "Old Fort," constructed in 1690 after the Jacobite uprising, remains a captivating relic from Scotland's turbulent history.

Day 2: Oban and Isle of Mull
This morning, a leisurely drive along the lochside to Oban, known as Scotland's "Gateway to the Isles." Catch the 40-minute ferry to the Isle of Mull, where you'll spot the Eilean Musdile Lighthouse and the impressive Duart Castle, which is our first destination. Start with a welcome talk from the head guide that explores the castle's history. This is followed by free time to appreciate the castle rooms, concluding with tea and scones. Depart Duart and on to visit Tobermory, the island's colourful capital, renowned for its vibrant houses and storefronts. Have a spot of lunch in one of the charming tea rooms or try some local cheese and chocolate produced on the island.
Day 3: Lovely Lochaber & Mountain Cable Car
Spend some free time in Fort William before a brief tour to explore the surrounding area. At Banavie, we stop to see boats traversing the eight locks of Neptune's Staircase. Then onwards to Spean Bridge, hugging the route of the Caledonian Canal. Take in the panoramic views of Ben Nevis, pausing for photos at The Commando Monument. Concluding the day is a cable car ascent up to 2200ft into the mountains near Ben Nevis, offering a bird's-eye view of Fort William and beyond. There is a café and accessible graded walks for added enjoyment.
Day 4: West Highland Line train & Isle of Skye Circular
Board the train in Fort William and relax on one of the most scenic railway journeys in Europe. Travelling through glens, along loch sides, and across the breathtaking 21-arched Glenfinnan Viaduct. This is, after all, the West Highland Line, of Harry Potter fame. Upon reaching Mallaig, your coach awaits to board the ferry "Over the Sea to Skye." Marvel at the rugged scenery of southern Skye, including the Cuillin Mountains, before lunch at a local hotel (included). After lunch, explore Skye, crossing the bridge at Kyle and making a stop at the renowned Eilean Donan Castle, Scotland's second most photographed castle. As the road ascends steadily at Glen Shiel, the Five Sisters of Kintail come into view.
