The coastal resort of Weston Super Mare is the perfect base to for our Somerset and Historic Bath Package. The hotel selected is located right on the seafront, and near to the new pier, which has been totally re-built following a fire back in 2008. The beach, pier, promenade, shops, pubs and eateries are all within an easy walk from the hotel. The package is designed to blend in the relaxation of staying in one of England's most loved destinations as well as assigning sufficient time to discover Somerset's remarkable landscapes, all, of course, conducted at a leisurely pace. The package includes visits to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Bath, a journey on a steam train along Somersets coastline and a scenic drive through the Cheddar Gorge with time spent in the smallest city in England.

Day 2: Historic Bath
Home to many fine Georgian buildings, The UNESCO city of Bath is a true historical gem waiting to be discovered. Firstly, entry is included to the most well known attraction - The Roman Baths Complex, featuring the Bath House, Roman Temple, Sacred Spring and Museum. Afterwards, time free to roam the city at will. There are plenty of characterful cafes and pubs. Or, perhaps visit one of the many museums dedicated to fashion and astronomy, see the 18th century Royal Crescent or visit the city's fine medieval Abbey of St Peters.
Day 3: Cheddar Gorge & Wells
Morning free to explore the beach and promenade areas of Weston Super Mare before embarking on a half day spectacular drive through Cheddar Gorge which has the highest inland cliffs in England. Then, descend into Wells, England's smallest city. This medieval city dates back to the 12th century and claims to have the most intact medieval street in Europe, Vicars Close. Also of historical interest is Wells Cathedral built between 12th & 15th century.
Day 4: Minehead & West Somerset Steam Railway
After a leisurely breakfast, head westwards through sweeping Somerset landscapes to board the West Somerset Steam Train in Bishops Lydeard. Step back in time to the golden age of steam as the train steams nearly 23 miles to Minehead passing through 10 lovingly restored stations along the way. The journey takes approximately 75 minutes, leaving the afternoon free to relax in the seaside resort and old town of Minehead, with its flat promenade and large sandy beach. Returning to your hotel through the Quantock Hills, recognised as an Area of Natural Beauty.
