Day 1: Exmoor, Dunster & Lynmouth
About an hour's drive away within Exmoor National Park, famous for its natural beauty, is the historic village of Dunster, dating back to 700AD & mentioned in the Doomsday Book. Time free to stroll along the charming streets. The village is well preserved to maintain its historic charm. Dunster is home to over 200 listed historical buildings, including Dunster Castle, an 11th-century castle, and the Old Yarn Market, located in the middle of the High Street. On our way back, we stop off in Lynton, known as England's "Little Switzerland". It is a charming Victorian village. Nearby is Lynmouth, with free time to explore the area with its rows of attractive fishing cottages clustered around the picture postcard harbour.
Day 2: Free Day, Ilfracombe
Take a leisurely stroll around the harbour and enjoy the sparkling views of the sea, boats, and surrounding cliffs. A perfect spot to relax and enjoy the sea air. See the Verity Sculpture, a 20-metre-tall statue located on the pier. There are the Tunnels Beaches - a unique network of hand-carved tunnels leading to sheltered beaches. There's a museum, coastal walking paths and Bicclescombe Park, a Victorian park with well-maintained gardens, a lake, and gentle walking paths. Later, join your coach for a local coastal drive exploring the local area.
Day 3: North Devon Heritage Coastline
A full day tour, starting with a visit to the market town of Barnstaple, famous for its pottery, with free time. Then onwards on to Devon's Heritage Coastline and the historic market harbour town of Bideford, with its picturesque quay. Bideford was once Britain's third most important port & the arched bridge is one of the longest medieval bridges in England. Next stop is Appledore, a historic fishing village full of maritime history, winding narrow streets and colourful houses.
